Chic and on the Cheap

I had a panic about what to wear for graduation. I was loathed to go into Zara for fear of every other English graduand turning up in various hues of the same dress, but I gave in after tackling every shop on Oxford Street on one of the hottest days of the year. My first go was so stressful even my orthopaedic Birkenstocks were giving me blisters.
Round 2 took place in the Zara in Knightsbridge - uh, HEAVEN. The great thing about the Zara sale is that it isn't just a shambolic, overloaded rail, oh no, the clever Spaniards turn the whole shop into a well organised sale-zone. Not only did I find two dresses, but I had spotted these beauties online and as soon as I saw them in the flesh they had to be mine. Every savvy shopper knows that Zara is one of, if not the, kings of designer knock-offs for footwear. I've been lusting over Balenciaga's beautiful pointed, mesh creations, but at £545 a pop they will not be mine for a zillion years. This pair from Zara, in the sale, were a mere £22.99!!! They practically walked into my hands all on their own. They also have a block heel which meant I didn't tumble towards the Vice-Chancellor of Leeds Uni to pick up my degree.

(The real deal. Cameron Diaz is not really a style icon of mine but hey - just so you can see the shoes)
